Abstract explorations of light and sound.

What started as an abstract exploration of light, quickly morphed into eye-like visuals, through layers of colors, shapes, and movement. By definition, tapeta lucida is a layer of iridescent tissue in the eye of many vertebrates, a retroreflector that provides many animals exceptional night vision. These eyes gaze at us, and provoke the question, “What are we doing to save species and their natural habitat?” The mirror-like reflectivity in their eyes, reminds us of being alive, present, existing. Like endangered animals, we are endangering ourselves as the environment deteriorates. In the video, Tapeta Lucida, the light, as a crucial part of our existence, is struggling against obstruction, trying vigorously to reach a deeper intensity. Eventually the visuals abstract into matter, suggestive of the beginning of the universe.
