Jeff began his career with Stepstone Productions in 1994 two years after graduating from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He started as a production assistant and grip before moving his way up to staff photographer in 1996.

Jeff has traveled the world shooting and helping to produce documentaries for Stepstone. In 1995 he spent a week in Cochabamba, Bolivia, working on a half-hour program documenting abandoned "street kids." Later that year he was in Jerusalem helping to document the dramatic exodus of Christians from the Holy Land. His first chance to shoot his own documentary came in late 1995 when he went to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Five months later he was back in Bosnia-Herzegovina on yet another assignment. Jeff has also worked in Rome and Paris. His most recent adventure took him to Lima, Peru, where he worked with a group of doctors providing care to the poor in a children's hospital. Besides his international assignments, he has also traveled extensively throughout the United States.

Jeff is hopeful that his work helps to provide those less fortunate with a voice and ultimately a chance at a better life. Recently, Jeff and his wife Carol are the parents of two boys.
