The Stepstone
Institute is the training arm of Stepstone Productions. The mission
of the Institute is to create stories of hope by training the youth
of today in the skills of tomorrow.
In the coming year the Institute will recruit and train five young
people in all aspects of video production. Upon graduation each
student will be placed in employment in the media field. The Department
of Labor has recently certified this program as a registered apprenticeship.
Declan Duffy is the director of the Institute. He is a member of
the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals
and is committed to ensuring quality training for all apprentices.
Helen Mc Glynn, Ph.D., a licensed clinical social worker will assist
apprentices make the transition to the world of professional work.
Our first apprentices begin training in September 2001. We will
keep you regularly updated on their progress during the coming year.
