Originally hailing from Ireland, Dan grew up in St. Louis knowing that he wanted to be involved in media and entertainment in some capacity. So in 1994, he graduated from the Broadcast Center in St. Louis, and started working for the nationally syndicated “Steve and DC Radio Show.” He turned a simple internship into the job of Assistant Producer. Then, to fill a hole left by a show vacancy, he switched to Production Director, where he was nominated for an Achievement in Radio Award for “Most Versatile Talent,” and won the award for “Best Writing.”

After five years, he decided that he wanted to test the waters of film and video, so he enrolled in a part-time film class, where he thrived. At the urging of his film instructor, Dan left St. Louis in 1999 to pursue film and video at the Vancouver Film School, in Vancouver, British Columbia. While there, he produced an award winning student video, and directed the only student film to be featured at the 2000 Vancouver Film Festival. That film later won a Canadian Society of Cinematographer's Award for technical merit.

In October of 2000, Dan came back to St. Louis, where he started part-time at Stepstone Productions, as well as back on “Steve and DC.” Dan is now full-time at Stepstone, and while he still loves radio, he is devoting all of his energy to video and film production. Since joining Stepstone, he has worked on numerous projects, from documentaries to commercials to award shows. He was also a Telly Award Finalist for his very first produced video for Stepstone.
